Wild charts of the day. Regardless of the income, American life span is significantly shorter than English life span. What is this about? Healthcare policies of course play a role, but it can't be the only thing if this is happening even at high income levels.

That'd probably explain the high income difference too. It's it's not like UK has super healthy eating habits but I guess USA is on another level.

The U.K. has far stricter regulations around food quality and additives etc. We tend to ban things until they’re proven safe, whereas the USA allows them until they’re proven harmful - at which point a lot of damage may have been done. Things like hormone treatments, pesticides, chlorine washing and preservatives are far less common in the U.K. (if they’re allowed at all)
