I think the only way to allow a foreign app is to allow end to end encryption for all internet users but the US loves to have backdoors for themselves so of course China would use it.

The addiction claim is not false, but also... All social media is that way? Maybe because it's video-based and its algo is objectively more powerful than others, they're even more addictive but that's kind of their success a little too. If TikTok is sued, Insta should be sued too.
