Would be interesting to see the casualty numbers instead of number of participations in the Y axis. (I guess participation can range anywhere from moving some battleships without much harm all the way to Vietnam kind of war... Makes the comparison tricky if they all count as one unit.)

Do you have the data breakdown by any chance? I'd be curious to see which conflicts were counted for France, and what was qualified as "war". Is there a definition of "war" for this specific research btw?
