Training AI on copyrighted material is theft. But this is just a lawsuit for the labels to clear the field to use their own AI trained on the vast catalogs they own copyrights for. Rumor is they’re already doing it (WAY beyond what UMG announced regarding vocal models). None of this helps creators.

It was bound to happen. With every music tech development, they've been late to adopt and early to sue. Mp3s, Napster, streaming, etc. They just want the biggest piece of the pie without thinking about future benefits.
