ok so its almost 2am and i should be asleep but im staying at a hotel and need to update my whereabouts and the site won’t load what is whereabouts? every single night professional athletes must tell the world anti doping agency the address where they are sleeping you do this through a super clunky website that doesn’t work well on mobile if you dont fill it in correctly and anti doping officers come to randomly drug test you in the morning and you’re not there you get a “whereabouts failure” three whereabouts failures in a year and youre banned from your sport for up to 4 years ( unless you have a really good lawyer or something) AMA as i try to update it lol

That's crazy. What if you go on a hike or end up sleeping somewhere unplanned last minute?

if its a hike you would have to put the address closest to where you are then add additional information explaining that youre camping same with being in the air on an overnight flight sleeping somewhere unplanned you have to put the address in before like 5am on the app, if phone dies and they show up at your house and youre not there…whereabouts failure!

The trials and tribulations of an athlete! It's so demanding on so many levels. My daughter is 7 and does gymnastics and they want her to train 6 hours a week. We are trying to decide if she likes it enough to commit to that. Looking around at your peers, are most happy they put in the training time starting so young? How is their mental health while they transition from a sport specific life to their next career path?

personally i started quite late at 15 so its abit different for me but my friends all started young at around age 7 and my brother who is a professional football (soccer) player started at 4 i think as long as they are having fun and in a nice environment its fine to start young as it does give them more experience but its also nice to explore a variety of activities and sports at a young age to discover your interests ☺️

oh and the mental health is good as long as they see themselves as valued because of who they are and not what they do or because of just their sporting achievements
