Visiting my parents (late 70s) for the first time this year. They literally have no idea what I do for work and at this point I’m not even interested in trying to explain it to them. It’s not even a crypto thing, this has been true for the last 20 years. From 1-10, how much do your parents understand your work?

I sometimes get the feeling my mom thinks I’ve gone insane, though she’s too polite to tell me as much. She understood for a solid decade but the blockchains bits are impenetrable, as is my penchant for rarely having a salaried job. My dad, on the other hand (also late 70s), understands just fine.

My parents are in their late 70’s too. My mom’s understanding of my job is maybe a 4. My dad thinks I still work at my last job selling ads for a magazine 😂

Not that I’m fully working yet but 9/10 cos it’s literally my dad’s work i do He’s into plumbing so i learnt from him and we work together every now and then.

Primary employment, yeah my Dad knows exactly what I do. My Mom (like my wife) kinda get it, but don’t really. (Sometimes we might not mention how crazy things can when we get home) 2nd life (crypto) I don’t even understand let alone anyone else.
