It took me a long time to really understand and thus come around on memecoins. I’m not going to intellectualize them but I don’t think they are some evil mechanism that is bad for the industry. The main thing I’ve been thinking a lot about is @jacob saying we should just call them memes and I agree with that.

I don't think they are evil mechanisms that are bad for this industry either, but I think that its important to understand what these are to me, a meme is a meme tokenizing a meme is a bad mental model, implies we can contain and capture and atomize the magic produced by a network. better to just bring the tokens (fun and chill on their own, but not necessarily so obviously) into much closer proximity to where memes naturally grow

The entire token and its movement is a meme. We buy it all together and sell it all together based on some current memetic value. It’s not the art or the ticker that is tokenized into a meme it’s an entire memetic experience around a token.
