reflection on @base growth: when we launched the @farcon precommit in february, we required the 20 USDC deposit on Base. people were annoyed. we had to include directions on how to get USDC on Base (CB wallet or bungee.exchange and then bungee got hacked fml). now ~6mo later, USDC on Base is pretty much the default.

it is crazy how fast they became the default and the overall change in sentiment as you described. Have noticed the same.

That happened at exactly the moment Coinbase made USDC transfers on base free. Didn’t even cost that much before but the loss of friction is PRICELESS.

Absolutely! Just Yesterday I sat in my coworking phone cabin and heard my neighbor pitch an investor their stablecoin on-off-ramp solution that they wanna launch on Solana and Base after previously building a wallet exclusively on Solana. Completely different to 6 months ago where it felt like we were meming Base into existence (without much DeFi, tokens etc) and the choice was still between Ethereum and a grant from another l1 or Optimism/Arbitrum. > Base taking over without big incentives is impressive. > The most successful products this year not having tokens is also interesting
