Nice. I will have both of these on my list. Food in Colombia is so good I am definitely planning on eating my face off.

there's two things to do in Cartagena:
- visit islands
- spend time in the "ciudad amurallada" eating like a king

1) spend 2-3 nights @ islas baru or calablanca baru
2) great food: Baruco (live music), Mistura, Lobo de Mar. Good spot to have a drink: El Baluarte San Francisco Javier

Unfortunately I have never been to South and Central America

I recommend Di Silvio Trattoria in the Getsemani neighborhood -- I love their PIzza Mexicana.
