hi peeps! i'd like to announce /reframing. i've tried to write this thread a few times already so let me just dive into why i'm starting another channel for nobody to care about.

/reframing is born out of a singular problem i've been experiencing, which is that i want to hang out on farcaster (i don't use any other social media) but i also can't stand when people say dumb shit on the internet. bummer, right? but what if it's not the answers that are wrong? what if it's the premise?

reframing is hard -- trust me, i've spent two days writing and rewriting this announcement thread, and, tbh, i'm still not sure what i'm doing. but that's the whole idea. are we seeing the problems clearly? what if there's more to them? how can we acknowledge the invisible? and, most importantly: how can we disabuse misconceptions without abusing each other?

i think this is the central crux of the problem, and it's the real reason i'm starting this channel: i'm a sarcastic asshole. and nuance is difficult. but i want a better world! so i'm creating this space as a place to practice putting aside my angers, disappointments, and disbeliefs, in order to put a good faith effort towards seeing more clearly. and being kinder. a place to overexplain and rant and probably cry sometimes. a place to slow down. a place to *care*.

look, our problems are so much bigger than our squabbles. but dunking on each other feels productive! because fighting feels like action! but i'm tired of fighting, grandpa. and it's NOT too damn bad! because i know there are *other options*.
