@jacek - I've been vocal about my thoughts on the state of degen, the bans, the claims, tipping etc, but complainers are useless and I personally loathe people who do nothing but bitch and moan. So for starters, apologies. I should come with something constructive. (credit to @jdotfinn for very very subtly calling me out on that) What I think now: (constructive stuff after) 1) Tipping is over. It was fun when it was chaos at the start and when the token was worth a lot. But that time has passed and tipping no longer works in this age of Degen. As long as there is a financial incentive to do so, farmers will find a way. And if you try and fight farmers, you'll hit a bunch of good folks with friendly fire. 2) Trying to foster the 'right' type of content is too hard, too subjective and trying to tell people to tip 'authentic' content is a losing battle and comes off like behavioral nudging.

3) The L3 isn't working. Not to say it can't, but it would be much better to have people to choose to bridge on than have to bridge off. Every person I know of, in every DC/DM/GC bridged off. Including many of the staunchest allies of you/Degen. If even they can't stick it out on L3, no one is going to. Degen / Degeneracy, by definition, is someone who engages in highly speculative and risky behavior. Of their own free will (or, possibly due to addiction) and at their peril. Degen does not have that right now. We are told what to do. What to like and tip. Where to go. And so with that, I propose a return to Degeneracy. 👇

I suggest that we turn the tipping allowances into house chits for the Grand Casino that is Farcaster and all of the wonderful things being built on it. (NOTE: People far smarter than I can speak to the financial feasibility and tokenomics of some of the following, but as someone who has spent a great deal of time thinking about user experiences, I think the ideas hold merit, at least enough to be considered). Idea 1: DeClankergen: Using @clanker and degens allowances, users can tip to buy into a select series of Clanker tokens. Rather than having to post for tips, artists/creators/etc can create tokens, purchasable with tips, and possibly LP'd against degen. Novel use cases will emerge, it will be fun, and degen will be still be distributed through an allowance.
