throughout art history, when a particular type of presentation or curation wasn't working or wasn't achievable for an artist/curator, they imagined up a new method of presenting and curating work. When Gustave Courbet was refused from the prestigious Salon in 1855, he opened his own 'Pavilion du Réalisme' right next to it. Seth Siegelaub curated an exhibition as a published book (the Xerox book). When Iris Clert had to close her gallery, she bought a transparent truck and presented works in a 'travelling gallery'. Hans Ulrich Obrist organised his first exhibition in his kitchen. if you don't have access or connections to a gallery space, what are some ways to present your work that *are* achievable for you?
