He revealed that, with cooperation from AT&T and the willful ignorance of companies like Facebook, Google, Yahoo, and others, the U.S. government kept a database of every American's emails, text messages, photos, and even sexts.

“You could even play back recordings of [unknowing people’s] online sessions, so that the screen you’d be looking at was their screen, whatever was on their desktop."

Yet, within a few months, we all returned to our routines as if nothing had happened.

liberates code from the grip of central ownership. 

If the app's original creators, developers, or the company behind it disappear, the project can still thrive if the community is willing to keep making contributions.

12/ Trust is a spectrum.

Building it into the fabric of the internet requires commitment from both developers and users.
