Thoughts on onchain gaming: What should be onchain: 1) your account/id/identity; 2) core game assets, could be different based on game genre, e.g. piece of land in farming game, armor in rpg game, etc. etc; 3) core game logic/rules: maybe, but only really basic ones; What doesn't need be onchain: rest of it. game tokens? maybe, but having an erc20 token too early could ruin the pmf for a game. Also don't underestimate the workload of issuing & operating a token alongside of developing & operating games, this is A major quest, not a side one. Will onchain gaming make it? Don't see why not, may take a while, & we also need native social distribution channel ready first, e.g. @farcaster wtdt?

Imo game should be fun. A lot of these web3 games like to over engineer things like dual token system, turning everything into NFT and making every actionable an onchain txn. All these non-essential stuff increases the learning curve for gamers and hence increases the bounce rate

With an ECS architecture it's pretty much what you've described

Integration of gaming to onchain ecosystems is awesome, gives a breath of fresh air to in game economies and value propositions. I imagine future iterations sort of like Counter Strikes loot boxes, except more than just skins/ cosmetics. Play to earn is something that is so intriguing to me
