Escheatment is kind of an important thing: lots of assets from people who are deceased end up in limbo without a process in place to handle it. Requiring a user logs in after being inactive for nearly three years seems pretty reasonable

Keep in mind that the assets are turned over to the state, but the rightful owner has the ability to claim them back from the state after this occurs. It just removes the liability from Robinhood's books (in this case)
