question though @cassie is there a place I need to enter an evm address in? or an ID that I need to remember of for rewards later on?

The node generates a key pair for rewards on first run. There's no relationship to the EVM, Q is its own L1

okay thanks. last 2 since I dont want this to become a troubleshooting thread for you :D * Where can I find the key pair for rewards? * and having trouble finding this "config directory either specified at runtime or defaulting to the .config/ folder in the node project"

It's in <project root>/node/.config/keys.yml, encrypted by the key in node/.config/config.yml (future key management options ๐Ÿ”œ)

awesome. i found both information exactly. thank you very much for the help! i'll keep this running forever. what if there's a new release for ceremonyclient? Do we run the new version node and then do an -import-priv-key flag command to maintain the same keypair?

Just git pull for now, you won't lose your keys. It is recommended you back up the config.yml and keys.yml files though!

sorry noob question again - do you know what it means when the Q node said "enable gRPC for rewards" when I ran the -balance command.

you have to set the listenGrpcMultiaddr value in the config.yml to have a valid multiaddr for it to query (and restart your node after changing the config). Example: listenGrpcMultiaddr: /ip4/127.0.0.1/tcp/8337
