Assange was not involved with Bitcoin in any capacity in 2009, especially not January. Satoshi explicitly shooed Wikileaks away from Bitcoin for as long as possible because kicking the hornets nest at that time especially for a fledgling project was too risky.

early bitcoin days most of the folks on metzdowd were skeptical, other mailing lists varied. it's possible assange was cpu mining, but i doubt it
