It’s more an issue with semiconductor fabrication — there’s few processes for manufacturing semiconductors that work at terahertz clock speeds, and of those that do, they are extremely expensive, require very absurd cooling processes, and use a lot of energy. An ideal superconductor would not suffer this problem

Isn't frequency more a factor of size of die vs speed of light? (Heat would definitely be less of an issue, but I imagine the signal travel distance is the main factor?)
