We have entered a dark hour in America, one I've been warning about for years now, and have been building to safeguard against. To take swift action, we are moving all Quilibrium bootstrap nodes outside of US jurisdiction https://www.npr.org/2024/04/20/1246076114/senate-passes-reauthorization-surveillance-program-fisa

What does this law bring into effect? - It renews the existing unpatriotic and unconstitutional warrantless surveillance provisions, but more importantly - The legal authorization to coerce American companies to act on behalf of these security organizations to provide intercept capabilities in communication services

The way I read that second bullet point is basically that they want "in" on the "end to end encryption" being use for the likes of Telegram and iMessage? Because atm IIRC, they do not have it- but with the passing of the bill, they will be able to more than say "please" they will be able to say "do it or sanctions?"

It's more complicated: https://reason.com/2024/04/19/how-the-fisa-reauthorization-bill-could-force-maintenance-workers-and-custodians-to-become-government-spies/ The constitution forbids compelled speech, this was affirmed in the battle between Apple and the FBI regarding their refusal to add backdoors.

So what US companies can do to avoid contamination by this bill: - get your chokepoint infrastructure out of the US. yesterday. - eliminate chokepoint infrastructure ASAP. - build your architecture to be shared-nothing, zero-trust.

I see. I have a lot of thoughts about this. The main one being. When 2.0? The thought after that… when nano-augmentations powered by graphene become a thing, I’m gonna get one that makes my voice sound like a rick roll when it’s recorded without my consent…
