Hi folks! Quilibrium's ceremony has passed the threshold on the number of rounds before we are ready to move on to the partial network launch.

What does this mean?

In four days, the sequencer will stop accepting contributions, and a ceremony client upgrade to convert CLI operators into partial nodes will be required.

What will this require?

If you are running the CLI client, you will need to fetch the updated version from git when it becomes available. It is a significantly more bandwidth intensive process, as it will be running the peer-to-peer proto-network that continues the ceremony in an MPC context.

How much bandwidth, and what's the benefit?

Approximately 50Mbps will be required. By moving to this, we are not only continuing to ensure security for the network, we are also confirming in the wild the performance characteristics of the network and whether any protocol-level adjustments will be required.

How many tokens?

This depends on the number of participants in a round. Each exchange requires ~98M mutual compute operations, and there can be upwards of 8 distinct exchanges of this. Scaled to tokens, this comes out to anywhere between ~98 to ~784 QUIL for participating in a round.

What's the incentive?

Like the precursor ceremony, there is continued issuance of reward token. The difference is quantity – the cost function of the network will be dictating the rewards, which is aligned to the overall number of mutual compute operations required per round. In other words, a lot more tokens.
