Off on the timing, right on the assessment: blob fees are now becoming more expensive than calldata.

Bold prediction by @cassie that saw it playing out in the first few months of dencun. (I followed the initial commit hash but not the outcome) 

interestingly, now the narrative appears to have shifted in the opposite direction - (centralized) L2s are capturing most of the execution / mev fees, and blob fees are NOT high enough to return value to L1 validators.
