in all seriousness, MD is a tricky thing to support, because it exponentially raises the number of rendering scenarios that need to be handled across different platforms, not to mention usually you can't support all of markdown or you risk really bad outcomes like scam links (discord _still_ hasn't gotten this right).

been playing with it for while on a project, trying to simulate streamed md as in llm chat. it's kinda nice, tricky to get right but obviously easier with static content.
