Dawn approaches, and DHT testing has been in motion for a few days now. During that time, I have run a number of forced break scenarios, and thus far, the core of the consensus algorithm, being only in memory, has maintained consensus without a hitch. And so, here's how we're going to up the ante in the coming days.

There are four additional aspects to Dawn that are not yet running, and we will increment the client repo with these components over the next few days. First, we will add the storage layer to the consensus algorithm. This will require an update to everyone's node clients, however, we should retain consensus.

The third piece is the data proof clock, which will allow us to begin testing the "global coordination without global consensus" feature of the network. This test will involve a few coordinated resets, this will be organized through published genesis seeds.

And finally, the ceremony application. We will do a couple full fresh starts of the ceremony, and assuming all is well (or that the required adjustments are minor), Dawn will begin on September 18.

The next piece is enabling secure message channels. While the channels are intended to facilitate MPC applications like the ceremony, it will be available through the node as a temporary IRC-like client. Feel free to get chatty, we'll want to put this to the test.
