Anyone in NS interested in reproduction? Not thinking about reproduction reflects our complex interplay of individual choice, societal evolution & changing priorities. But still, how the hell is this supposed to work beyond 20 years? Find me ppl interested in reproduction, families and combating the high cost of raising children & healthcare.

Interested to hear your thoughts on this topic. Are you asking what role a Network State plays in family? What are you imagining?

So thinking of babies incubating in an artificial womb, how do we get nutrients & build connection with the mothers? If surrogacy has shown us anything it’s that bonding is a challenge. So what technology needs to be built? - audio reception for mother & fathers/family voices - something to train lactation for new mothers & also could be used to figure out what she may be lacking in terms of vitamins (then automatically purchase & deliver) - delivery mechanisms for infants from incubator to families either dropped from space stations /drone delivery cuz down on carbon emissions from shipping too 😅 - setting up foundation for roles for educators, this is something that Singapore did very well when starting out making a plan for all the roles needed and education was not skipped. So as we start this journey this aspect of roles needed to nurture children must be prioritised. - how to set up medical insurances with other states or new paradigm all together

had some more thoughts on this topic from the phil thread. Society should do a better job at building structure around the family. For example, Work should not be a simple 9 to 5. And same with education. For example, my dad had to work all holidays and many weekends. The few times he had to hang out with us were on weekdays, where we were at school With network schools/states in place, communities form that follow the same schedule and better adapt to the people they serve

I have the same experience as my father worked, what seemed to be non-stop. Luckily my mother was a home-maker & also took care of the other children in the neighbourhood where other mothers had to work. So thinking in terms of housing & communities. The co-living concept is interesting also the concept of multigenerational & extended families living under the same household. For example, my ex’s family in Indonesia has 3 generations + multiple family units in one property. And 14 maids. 😅 When I divorced, it was hard to find housing for me + 2 kids. Current co-loving didn’t accept children and it was also hard to find comfortable living arrangements. I ended up taking a small place & sleeping in the same bed with my kids until I could afford 5K on my own. So co-living for families is something I would love to see in the future. Safe, child friendly with parents who get paid to care and educate other families’ children within the property.
