Successful crypto venture investing requires a unqiue understanding of crypto specifics and eccentricities. What worked in trad tech investing "I like this founder and this idea" just doesn't translate into crypto.

This was also the case in 1995 - 2001 for ‘internet companies’.

do you consider that a short term or long term strategy? or both?

I'd hope that fundamentals play a significant role in long term, but can see how it wouldn't matter for short term investing (or if a fund isn't concerned with the longevity/sustainability of crypto)
