It is a great conversation. I went back to the thread and read it. There are also some subjective reasons for collecting art. It may vary from people to people. I like to have at home art made by friends. It is a way of having them around. 😉

It is on the phone. Not far away. Even portable. Having around is a metaphor. 
It is kind of the same for me as paper books and digital books. I enjoy both in different ways.
