The police were on the beach and thankfully it was only in about 3 feet of water. 

This happens all the time here - people think of Lake Michigan as simply a lake like any inland lake, but it’s basically a fresh water ocean with wild winds and waves to match.

Oh, that’s sounds a bit dangerous. Or at least, people have to be more cautious in the lake. Nice to know that nothing really bad happened.

Agreed. I’ve heard that most of the time it’s negligence on the boat owner’s part. Often people forget to put the drain plug in. 🙃
