dat's life ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ in terms of behavioral change, i think a big part is persuasion/reality distortion fields. as we've seen in crypto, ppl choose to do an awful lot of work chasing things they think will be big reward but end being nothing even when there are more rewarding+less effort options present (╥_╥)

i just try prioritize enjoyment for effort (a luxury, yes) tangent – a struggling friend just lost out on a salaried job bc the company went with ai to get more bang for their buck. but they still wanted her "product" bc they had the nerve to ask to train the model on her style to use it in perpetuity for free 🪦

yeah i'm not anti-ai, i think it's a useful tool. but i do fear that combined with the "something for nothing" efficiency mentality of ppl that u wrote about, it can lead to sad places like my friend's situation and accelerate more blanding effects on culture and society (;;;*_*)
