Farcasters, I’m working on something for Farcon and would love your reactions and thoughts. Feel free to add a different option as well. Candor, honesty and kindness appreciated 🙏

There’s certainly a challenge fitting in.

I don’t think anyone wants you (or anyone) to fit in here. I think people want to understand what makes your perspective uniquely your own

Fitting in to provide a sense of comfort, alignment, and familiarity. Like what many OG devs may have with the eth foundation. I think what makes a community is that sense of belonging. And yes, I can see there are generally more diverse perspectives and curiosity here than anywhere else

Unpopular opinion - but it may be time for invites to open up. Easier for network effect, easier for me to onboard folks I will enjoy it here

I hear that - and for people who have been around they already are Some context you might not know - but they did a “onboard a lot of people” back in aug/sep last year and for a few weeks it really changed the feel of the platform (for the worse) - because people didn’t adopt community norms fast enough

I would imagine so.. In your view, what were you some of the community norms that weren’t adopted quickly enough?

“Assuming positive intent” with replies was the biggest norm that didn’t get adopted when the floodgates opened. On FC, rn most people ask “what do you mean by that” if something divisive is said whereas the “No you’re fucking wrong you idiot” mentality from twitter came w a vengeance w fast growth
