When you feel like you’re on a roll, and then you just get derailed by something (or even nothing, like wandering attention), How do you get back in the zone? I know we all struggle with this. I’m always looking for new tips to try even if it only works once, because novelty.

In general, routines are downstream of habits are downstream of actions are downstream of internal votes. Figuring out “the next right thing” in any given moment is crucial to not get overwhelmed and quit when you “break” the ideal path for like your morning. Like if i get out of bed on time, feed my cats, eat my preworkout meal, but spend an extra 10 min drinking preworkout vs my planned time i sometimes doom spiral bc i “fucked it all up” but if i can just get myself to get off the couch i can keep cruising. i am still behind, but the routine isn’t destroyed (sometimes) Atomic Habits is over recommended now but the concept of Habit Stackng is worth a google imo DCs are open if you have more details so i can be more specific. Also here’s a short post I wrote about my struggles w this https://www.wysr.xyz/p/lines-of-drift

All of this resonates with me as well, and putting a phrase to natural lines of shift really helps frame things! I was gonna tip ya some warps for this cast but it looks like it got cut in the recent updates 🥲

I didn’t finish atomic habits but it’s definitely what informed my reshaping of a routine into micro-rituals

This was dope. Super helpful to think about. I’m gonna try the notebook thing and habit stacking!
