Definitely agree with that - my interpretation of this issue isn't that everything needs to be saved, but the fact that until very recently basically nothing could be "canonically" saved in a credibly neutral way.

You don't need ALL the records, just the keystone ones.

IDK about that. Ethereum is powerful, but archiving petabytes of old text and images for posterity is not what blockchains do best.
