Why do you build things?

I build things bc I realized I could change things about the world. 

I was a music kid first who learned from the hellscape internet that you could use code to fuck with people online.

Then I went to college and learned you could MAKE stuff with code too, not just break stuff. 

But it took 4 years in the Army…

I started shipping more focused, tangible, and interact-able things. 

I didn’t understand any of the philosophy about how to do this “well” until years later - mostly through studying other entrepreneurs, but had fun playing nonetheless. 

But now I try to and I treat it as a practice bc it’s important to me.

And the corresponding hundreds of hours of “captive but not currently occupied” time at work exploring the internet again for me to connect my general confidence in self-reliance to projects that required building stuff with code.
