I personally have noticed this myself. There is a profound political polarization in my country as well and Twitter is an absolute dumpster fire that messes you up even after a few minutes of reading. Good to see there is an actual study and knowing I wasn't being crazy or something.

Is likely other platforms cause similar changes too. We got used to see a filtered version of other people's lives which can certainly lead to a whole array of effects as well.

I can't remember the name, but I saw a documentary about how platforms like Instagram and Facebook have purposely used the algorithm to manipulate its users emotions. Really evil shit
