Something crypto has normalized that still blows my mind: people gifting each other assets worth (tens of) thousands of dollars. It’s not uncommon for internet friends to send each other NFTs “just because” that have standing offers of 5 ETH. This is pure magic.

This is why crypto makes no sense to those just looking in. Everything is flipped to what they’ve ever known. It’s hard to break out of the mainstream brainwashing.
