it's a way to delegate decision making power within a group by following the lines of trust. Delegations are transitive. A trusts B. B trusts C. Therefore A trusts C, and C now has the voting weight of 3 people in decision making processes should they choose to be involved.

In times of high trust -- very few people with large numbers of votes are needed to agree and make decisions. But when trusts breaks down, most people DON'T delegate and now the process looks a whole lot more like direct democracy. Lots of debate and ideas to find a new order.

Once people are either exhausted or a good solution to the social unrest of the day is found, delegation goes up -- possibly and probably with new names and faces at the top.

Delegations are immediately revocable on chain always. So bad, corrupt, or unpopular decisions can result in the decision maker(s) losing power overnight. Followed by a proportional increase in the number of voices to contend with in deliberation.

So how to avoid mob rule? Well, we put limits on the number of DIRECT delegations. I think something like Dunbar's number makes sense -- 100 to 150 people. A person should receive delegations from people who actually know them.

This would mean intuitively that a person with 10,000 or 1,000,000 total delegations is not just trusted by just anyone, but they are "trusted by trusted people" and this will allow for flexibility in situations where a powerful person needs to use their judgement to make a counterintuitive decision.
