Day #41 healthy living update: Dinner: fasting Snack: fasting Exercise: 50 push-ups Murdery Vibes: 3/10 Attempting a 72 hour fast. Currently at around 42 hours, idk if I'll make it Been in a funk lately. Need to find a way out. Ironically, I've been considering playing some poker to help me out of it. Oddly enough, even though there's volatility in poker, there's also something soothing about the consistency of the maths. Or maybe I just want to win at something. Idk. Gotta change something πŸ€”

A discussion I watched about fasting explained that our bodies are literally designed to function more efficiently while we're fasting because that's when we'd need energy to go hunt/chase or gather food. Made sense to me: if your body refuses to work after you haven't eaten for a while, you will die eventually, so we need to be able to function when we are low on food intake. So instead we burn ketones which is supposed to give you energy and mental clarity to go get something to eat and sustain yourself. It also triggers processes in the body that heal issues and clean out malfunctioning cells (autophagy) so you have fewer obstacles to getting food. I thought it was an interesting perspective!
