I noticed 2 new buttons when creating a cast. Pink button - "create a poll" -- I selected, "how long will it take for the timeline to get over casting a poll for everything?", failed to upload image, not great Green button -- @bountycaster, this seems cool.

I think polls are something people say they want but don't actually want. You'll see. Twitter had fantastic UX for polls and people didn't use them. The only people who use polls will be the ones who use them well. So a very small population. I bet dwr struggled with whether to ship this one. I wouldn't have.

We'll report back on metrics, we actually were seeing pretty steady pickup on them even with a crazy clunky delivery experience (~600 polls/month).

Gm Colin! I don't blame yall for shipping them. Id be interested in seeing the metrics behind the engagement that stems from ALL polls, not just how many get used. I think polls success are often mismeasured. If a good poll generates 100 comments which generates 1000 views, then the value of a poll is different than any other 1 poll. I also think there's a misalignment in product shipment that could help with long term usage. For something like polls, yall could have a team front loaded with a campaign on just using them and familiarizing people while it's being shipped. Kinda help the community along? I don't know who's scope that's in but I hope it becomes someones job. Thanks for stopping by and doing great work for us 🫡 / rant

Yeah, the video was the best we had :) Lots of this was built literally within the past 4 days, so not a huge window for education. We think people will pick up on it over time. Let me know if I can be helpful at all!
