:: 03.1 themarthaverse :: Hot on the heels of our Olympic debut with NFTs, we were hired by fashion retailer Ben Sherman as well as the one and only Martha Stewart to conceive and launch digital collectibles to her fans. Our first drop in October with a Halloween theme completely sold out, locking up our agreement to continue on a seasonal pace with Martha. We were starting to see beyond the popularity of NFT artwork and quietly began pursuing our vision for more practical applications to connect fans with brands, better leveraging the technology of Web3. Winter was coming in hot, a new drop for Martha, a whole universe of characters for TeamGB x Ben Sherman, and a gamification platform built on digital collectibles to coincide w/ Winter Olympics. By spring time we circled the wagons turning back into development mode, trying to stay ahead of the bad actors /scams / rug pulls / and crypto speculation that had saturated the market. /web3 /sports /olympics /sports-web3 /blockchain

:: 02.2 ikimashou ! :: In the midst of building the first Official Olympic Team NFT collection, TOKNS also broke new ground in the art scene by opening the Medal Moments Studio on Carnaby Street in downtown London. This was a highly appreciated art studio performance where acclaimed UK artist Ben Mosley was creating live paintings on a mural of the events of each day at the Olympics in Tokyo. TOKNS designed and organized the studio space, photographed each days’ work by Ben, and minted special edition NFTs daily of his incredible art. We created a one of a kind digital immersive experience around the studio, and then (the horror) painted over the entire space after the games, creating instant rarity for the NFTs. The whole experience was open for public viewing, it was absolutely incredible stuff! We were onto something, for sure. /sports /sports-web3 /olympics /contemporary-art /nftart /nft

:: 02.1 ikimashou ! :: So off we went to the Tokyo Olympics (figuratively of course we were mid-Covid) with teamGB. We stood up an impressive collection of digital collectibles; including pins (in collaboration with Ben Sherman), commemorative medals, and special edition moments. Literally everything was new, the technology, the product, the art, the team, the contract, legals, everything from scratch. We had a goal of democratizing this new NFT technology for the Olympic fanbase and while doing so ensure we steered clear of the scams, rug pulls, Ponzi schemes, and often clearly criminal activity happening in the crypto-specific space. We built a fiat payment system (first of its kind) for the collectibles, we built a wallet infrastructure to hold them, and we transferred them to their owners’ 3rd party wallets to display and possibly trade on OpenSea. Our timeline was literally weeks not months, we were grinding. It was a lot, we learned A LOT. And we were not done yet…

:: 01.2 serendipity :: There was a tone of urgency in his voice and I overheard something about “Olympics” and “we need a product ASAP”. After the call I asked him what he’s got going on he said it’s kind of crazy, probably not something I’ve heard of, NFT shit, and he was just hired to stand up the first ever official Olympic digital collectible program for the British Olympic Team to be ready for the Tokyo Olympics, which started in a couple weeks. Problem was they now had to contract but no product! My following comment was something like “NFW, I know all about NFTs, and design and UX/UI is in my wheelhouse. Do you need some help?” We agreed to meet he next day at a local coffee shop, and one large Americano later I was part of the founding team at TOKNS! Time to grind! /sports /sports-web3 /olympics /design /blockchain /startups /founders

Thanks for checking this out, surprised by how many follows I got out of the gate. So here we go. :: 01.1 serendipity :: About three years ago I got really interested in what was going on in the /Blockchain /Crypto /NFT space, trying to figure out a way to adapt my skill set to working in that industry. On a pretty random weekday I was walking my dog at a local park and happen to bump into a friend who is also walking his pup. We’ve known each other for years, have even coached teams for our kids together, but have never worked together. He is a pioneer in the social advertising space, I run a boutique design studio focused on brand development. Surprisingly we never talked shop very much despite our social interactions. On this particular day he got a call while we were chatting and had to take it… /sports /sports-web3 /blockchain /startups /founders ( ctd. in 01.2 )

Hey all! Thanks for having me. Quick intro - I’ve spent the last 25 years connecting people with design and now am working on a great blockchain powered platform called FanWall. We’re focused on fan engagement primarily in the world of sport. Hope to cast about our experiences, maybe provide some insight and entertainment on our learnings and journey. Here we go! ( btw thanks @fredwilson.eth for putting me onto warpcast and @vitalik.eth for building the rails ) /launchcaster /commerce /sports-web3 /sports
