As for question 2. Basically the canvas is crowded and even with people generally trying to work together and play nice it often results in some clashing. It would be nice to have some tools to telegraph what areas are currently being worked on. This would be especially helpful for animations.

It would also be great to have some tools for curating the pieces on the canvas. Even if non-binding, just to get a sense of what the community wants to keep on the canvas and what areas could be improved with other ideas.

An easy one would also be to add an attribution that displays the ENS of the proposer of the daily theme.

Often people are using the main chat to lobby for their theme of choice for the next day. Maybe a separate chat on the Vote page would be more appropriate and would enable greater conversation about why a theme is particularly appropriate for the palette

Select all, cut and paste. Sometime you'll finish a piece only to discover that it runs into someone else's. Or the canvas has changed in the process and it no longer fits. It would be nice to be able to select all your pixels and drag them around the canvas to place them.

Overlay fix. The overlay box is set behind the top menu. So the controls can get stuck under if you drag them up above the canvas to get the placement. If a translate grip was added to the bottom of the box that would help but you still lose the ability to easily change opacity.
