Finally got to reading this. Appreciate the framing of cities / the internet as semilattice. In a way, I guess it reflects the difference between top-down or bottom-up approaches to develop complexity/structure. The latter—being more organic and decentralised—tends to have more overlaps and resilience. 5 $degen

yeah complexity is not always something to be abstracted away. i think the comparison to city planning is good. overdesigned spaces often become inhuman and oppressive bc they try to remove the messiness of organic life
