Bernie's win in 2016 catalyzed a massive increase in people's civic engagement generally. Thousands of people inspired to run for local office and be part of the movement to turn America around. Citizen's United is repealed, the right to abortion access is codified, and the Dems were forced to accept the terms that they had to stop taking corporate PAC money and corrupt revolving door appointments. The Dems now run democratic primaries and allow leftists to be part of their party as they realize how much this is a winning strategy. (It's funny I believed any of this was possible back then. Now it seems ludicrous, none of that will ever happen. The Dems made their choice and must be replaced by an uncorrupted Party).
