So I haven’t done the grocery shopping in…awhile, and I went to pick some up tonight. When the fuck did things get so expensive? Orange juice is $9. Idk how people with kids do it.

Really three options… Allocate more resources towards the food budget. Reduce the spend by switching to lower priced brands or stores. Change diets accordingly. I think to some degree we’ll see more of the third option. Growing up in Minnesota citrus was a special occasion, and we drank juices from concentrate. Don’t think I ever remember orange juice in a half gallon container - I am a child of the 80s. Nowadays we’ll get OJ here and there, especially for our daughter who dislikes milk and we’ll get the Ca supplemented OJ. Then when we want to enjoy we go straight for Natalie’s Orchard Island. Still typically solid, though a shadow of its once great glory. Citrus greening is real. https://modernfarmer.com/2023/09/new-treatments-for-citrus-greening-have-passed-initial-testing/
