Overcast weekend, raining today so we skipped a family hike.  Youngest two went to a trampoline park for a bday party (always a good time).  Patriots won a miserable match against the Jets.

And I decided to launch us into soup season with Potato Leek Soup.

Simple comforts.

When I was a bachelor …

Growing veggies for the fine folks of Southeastern Massachusetts, w/ a focus on nutrient quality. Always interested in the evolution of digital payments.  🎩 

I would always make a big batch of Soup on Sundays.  Share a simple meal with my girlfriend and/or friends.  Put a quart or two in the freezer for a quick meal later in the winter and reserve a couple of servings for lunch layer that week.

If you are working outdoors, a good thermos with hot soup is perfect for lunch.

We did book clubs in the winter before we had kids, which would always feature some type of soup.

Nowadays I rarely cook in season, though as cooler weather settles in I get to contribute a bit more to our family dinners.

2 of our 3 kids enjoy soup.  One does not… maybe someday?

Finally one of the best purchases (at the time, $20) was a basic immersion blender.  It’s still going strong 20+ years later.

Probably $50-60 now, and would still be a great investment.
