Good question. Not sure about L2 tbh, but you can definetely do it on mainnet for sure.

Meaning waiting for fees to be low enough that it’s practical for lettuce heads, low value transactions.

CB wallet is subsidizing USDC sends on base so that is most likely route, though would prefer fees are low enough across L2s that I can avoid playing favorites wallet wise for introducing the option to customers.

Ah i see. There was a recent EIP intoduced don't remember the name of it, but IIRC it started with EIP-44.. something which should hopefully reduce fees on L2's
