Surprised there haven't been more attempts to create a breakout new podcast app. Breaker was the most interesting one and that was almost a decade ago. 

They are as relevant as ever and somehow still underrated. I would bet a significant share of YouTube is actually podcasts (importantly, available for free via RSS).

yah i personally don't listen to a lot of pods anymore

but when i do i usually have it playing in the background on a screen

ehhh not for podcasts. hard to stay on top of regular listens, can’t skip ads easily (apple podcasts skip button is 30s, youtube is next vid), and player is harder to navigate for pods
