Reminder: do not squat channels. 

We will do a clean up of clearly squatted names prior to moving channels into the protocol / decentralizing them.

This is a 2-3 months away.

(Having the "intention of growing a channel later" isn't some hack around this, either.)

Will channel names not be decentralized at first (like fnames)?

tbd, I'd like to just decentralize them and move on. but there's a version to do it fname style. need to figure that out in the next couple weeks.

Decentralizing anything is a one way door
(unless Merkle is the only one on the multisig, but, is that really decentralized…)

I think channel namespace has potential to be very valuable, therefore potential for revenue, so decentralizing without a value mechanism in place will lead to an imbalance
