But @jonwu (jonwu.eth) does have cb wallet

and he sent me a message, and I had to check my “suspected spam”, and it showed up as his wallet address, not his ENS

If that's the case, sounds like a bug in CBW. It's pretty unambiguous on XMTP whether a wallet has an identity registered or not. But apps can have  layers of caching on top of our APIs which can cause issues. 

Thanks for the report. I'll reach out to the CBW team and see if we can point them towards a fix.
