Thomas Smith wrote his book Successful Advertising in 1885. It’s been 140 years and it still has marketing principles that apply to today. That’s because we’re still humans talking to humans. The products, channels, and tactics change: but good strategy is timeless.

I love the old advertising books. These, by Claude Hopkins in the 1920s, are my favorites. I'm going to have to read this one from Smith!
