My mom is 81 & not on FC :), but she actually understands Farcaster which is part of the story.
Like many moms, she's dedicated her life to making sure my brother & I are happy & doing well. You can picture the car rides to sports, the perfect gifts, & 10,000 other ways.
But more recently she has become my 'counselor' through significant anxiety & sadness. Early on, she would say, 'can't you just think positive' but as she learned about it she started asking the right questions, knowing how to draw me out, & just 'being there for me.' Hard to explain what's she's done for me.
So much could be said, but back to Farcaster. She's so tuned into how I'm doing that she's learned what I do on FC. She can ask great questions about it. It may not sound like much, but it's a classic illustration of her other-centeredness.
At 70 she started a new business helping the elderly. Covid hit & it got wiped out. She's in debt & I pay her mortgage. This $ would pay 3 months of her mortgage & give me a break. Thanks! 2 replies
