i respect @balajis.eth, but rarely does he decouple the power/promise of crypto from the collapse/destruction of society as we know it. the dark imagery may appeal to anarchists, but what if we used imagery that appealed to alternative revolutionist personas (eg George Washington)? could we better inspire the masses?

I think a big part of playing at the edges of culture, tech, etc. is being able to process and synthesize. We are all pioneers, early adopters and builders here, especially in this space. Our culture fortunately/unfortunately rewards bombastic and hyperbolic speaking and writing.

There are, I think, important messages and signals, not just at face value, but embedded. The wonderful thing about him is he's learning in public. His work is available to all. He's also pretty smart. I may not agree with him on everything, but I do appreciate what he's doing. He's also probably correct more than not.
